Immersion Courses in France

LFEE Europe has been a Course Provider since 2002, delivering expert professional development training for teachers. Based in Edinburgh, LFEE Europe’s teaching team consists of French native speakers who are all experienced and fully qualified teachers and are committed to promoting French language and culture throughout Europe. Our French Immersion Courses, which take place in Lyon and Salignac, are supported by the British Council (UK), Léargas (Republic of Ireland), and other European Agencies under the new Erasmus+ (KA1) European funding programme.

 Aims of Primary Immersion Courses in Lyon and Salignac

  • To improve methodological expertise in the teaching of French to young learners
  • To provide participants with materials and ideas suitable for the teaching of French at primary level
  • To develop cultural awareness and understanding of contemporary France
  • To improve participants’ competence and performance in French
  • To use Internet and other ICT resources in your class

Aims of Follow-up Immersion Courses in Montpellier (for teachers who have already completed one of our courses in Lyon and/or Salignac)

  • To provide participants with fresh materials and ideas suitable for the teaching of French at primary/early secondary level, including new games and songs
  • To reinforce their methodological expertise in the teaching of French, focusing on cross-curricular learning
  • To develop a better cultural awareness and understanding of contemporary France by discovering the exceptional cultural heritage of the South of France (this also includes a possible visit to a French school depending on our partners’ availability)
  • To further improve participants’ competence and performance in French, looking in particular at grammar and sentence building
  • To continue to develop knowledge of ICT tools suitable for the language classroom

Aims of Secondary Immersion Courses

  • To develop cultural awareness and understanding of contemporary France
  • To debate current issues and (re)discover contemporary French personalities
  • To use Internet and other ICT resources in the classroom
  • To use contemporary novels, songs, short stories and films in the classroom
  • To enhance participants’ discursive skills, update their vocabulary and gain new ideas and materials for use in the classroom
  • To enhance methodological expertise in the teaching of French to teenagers

We recommend that you book a place with us on a course FIRST before you apply for Erasmus+ (KA1) funding as places are allocated on a first-come first-serve basis.
